Statewide & Local Partners

 Spring Partners Retreat in Knoxville
Statewide and Local Partners engaged in roundtable discussions at the 2007 Spring Meeting in Knoxville TN.

Does your preservation organization want to:

  • Develop a stronger leadership team?
  • Find more money for preservation projects?
  • Find out what other preservation organizations are doing--and access model nonprofit practices?
  • Have opportunities to network and exchange information with other organizations on a regular basis?

These and many other benefits are available through the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Statewide and Local Partners network, a coalition of over 100 high-performing nonprofit preservation organizations from across the country.

The network offers:

  • Opportunities for networking with other organizations at two Partners meetings annually, as well as at other special workshops and retreats
  • Information about model practices in preservation and property stewardship, advocacy, preservation education, outreach, and organizational development
  • Financial assistance through grant programs like Partners in the Field and referral fees from the National Trust Community Investment Corporation
  • Communication networks, including electronic user groups, a monthly e-newsletter, and Partners Central, the "Partners only" section of the National Trust's web site
  • Direct access to other National Trust programs and resources, such as training, preservation funds, advocacy, and referral fees for property development
  • A structure for providing input and feedback to National Trust senior management

Talk with your National Trust Regional Office about whether or not your organization is eligible to become a Statewide or Local Partner. Partners must be 501(c)(3) organizations engaged in historic preservation as a primary mission and committed to statewide or local outreach. Partners must have a full-time executive director and be a National Trust Forum member.
