Richard Moe Calls for Adequate Maintenance and Security of California State Parks Sites Despite Budget Cuts

"The California State Park System, included on the 2008 list of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places and already reeling from millions of dollars in deferred maintenance, has suffered another major blow in the new state budget," said Richard Moe, president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. "We call upon the state to provide adequate maintenance and protection for the historic and culturally significant buildings and sites in the entire park system, and pledge to work with the California State Parks Foundation, the Save Our State Parks coalition and other supporters to help the parks survive this current budget crisis."
