Development

The Development Department manages a range of fundraising programs focusing on the cultivation and stewardship of major individual, foundation, and corporate gifts in support of the work of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  The Development Department provides oversight and staffing to People Saving Places:  The Campaign for America's Heritage, a comprehensive $175 million fundraising effort.   Within the Development Department, the Planned Giving Office works with donors who provide support through planned gifts and bequests; the Gifts of Heritage program is designed for donors of architecturally or historically significant properties which are given to the National Trust for Historic Preservation for resale with protective covenants; Foundation & Corporate Philanthropy seeks support for the National Trust through both restricted and unrestricted funds from foundations and corporations; and the Major Gifts Office works closely with individuals for annual, major, and campaign gifts.
