 Examples of Preservation Fund Projects

 

 Couse Foundation  The Couse Foundation in Taos, NM-$2,000 (New Mexico Fund) for  elevation drawings of the E.I. Couse Home and studio and related buildings  to create a plan for future preservation needs and potential adaptive uses of the structures.

  New Hope School Wynee Arkansas  The New Hope School in Wynne,Arkansas-$2,500 (Arkansas Fund) to the Cross County Historical Society to assist in acquiring architectural services for the restoration of theNew Hope School (c. 1903).

  Trevino-Uribe Rancho  Trevino-Uribe Rancho in San Ygnacio, Texas-$4,000 (Fondren Fund)to the River Pierce Foundation for an evaluation of the engineering, architectural and preservation needs of the Trevino-Uribe Rancho (NHL, c.1830-1871) in San Ygnacio. The reports and recommendations will be incorporated into a master plan addressing the site's most urgent priorities.

  Shiner Catholic School  Shiner Catholic School (c.1916) in Shiner,TX-$5,000 (Meadows Fund) for a master plan that consisted of all existing church buildings and concentrate on the renovation of the 1916 school building. The master plan included three phases of the project: preparation and analysis, workshop to prioritize renovation schedule, and Master Plan recommendations and presentation.

  McAlester Masonic Center  McAlester Masonic Center in McAlester, Oklahoma-$2,500 (Mayo Fund) to the McAlester Scottish Rite Masons for a master plan that will provide guidance for the McAlester Masonic Center by setting priorities, describing deficiencies, suggesting methods of repair along with materials which will keep the restoration within historic preservation guidelines. Harn Homestead  Harn Homestead buildings in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-$7,000 (Kirkpatrick Fund) to the William Fremont Harn Gardens, Inc. for a feasibility study. The findings were used for strategic planning to prioritize the care, restoration and preservation that might be needed for this site. (1904, NR)

Boley Water Tower  Boley Water Tower in Boley, Oklahoma-$1,500 (Mayo Fund) to the Town of Boley for a detailed analysis of the needed repairs and cost of restoring the Boley Water Tower after ninety five years of standing as a symbol of the tenacious strong people that built the town.

Oakwood Cemetery   Save Austin's Cemeteries in Austin, Texas-$2,360 (Fondren Fund)  for structural condition assessment of the 1914 Oakwood Cemetery Chapel to identify major structural issues and the overall condition of the structure, to create a master plan for the building's rehabilitation for public use (c.1914, NR).
