The 106 Group is seeking a Senior Architectural Historian for our St. Paul office. Minimum qualifications include an M.A degree in architectural history, historic preservation, planning or closely related field, and at least 4 years of work experience in CRM and/or preservation planning. Salary range: $51,000 - $65,000 depending on experience and skills. The 106 Group offers an excellent salary and benefits package.


Duties

The ideal candidate will have experience in professional consulting. Minimum qualifications include an M.A degree in architectural history, historic preservation, planning or closely related field, and at least 4 years of work experience in CRM and/or preservation planning. Travel and fieldwork are requirements of this position. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Minnesota.

Qualifications

Skills and experience required include:

  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • A thorough knowledge of cultural resources management laws and process
  • Defining and conducting Phase I and II architecture-history surveys and evaluations, National Register nominations, design review for tax credit applications
  • Knowledge of the history and architectural styles of the Midwest and Great Plains
  • Good working knowledge of current information technologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to work individually and as a team
  • The ability to adapt quickly and work well under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Comfortable with PCs and Microsoft Office applications
  • Good working knowledge of current information technologies
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required
