In Memoriam: Karen Lewand, James Nelson Kise II, Samuel “Sam” H. Kaye, AIA

The preservation field lost three dedicated and tireless preservation advocates recently. Longtime Baltimore Heritage board member Karen Lewand died December 20, 2012. A preservationist and educator, she also served on the city’s Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation. James Nelson Kise II, a Philadelphia architect and urban planner died December 26, 2012. He was a member of Preservation Pennsylvania’s Board of Advisors, a former director, and an enthusiastic supporter of Preservation Pennsylvania's programs and services for well over a decade. Former National Trust Advisor and leader in the Mississippi Main Street Program Samuel “Sam” H. Kaye, AIA , died January 1, 2013.
