Preservation Green Lab Receives $2 Million from DOE
Preservation Green Lab
The Preservation Green Lab recently received a $2 million award from the Department of Energy to help small commercial buildings save money by saving energy. The Green Lab will develop an innovative model for delivering energy savings to small buildings (smaller than 50,000 square feet in size) by working with the National Main Street Center to help stimulate preservation-based economic revitalization through energy cost savings. Green Lab research indicates that small building owners and operators often lack the capital and resources available to large commercial building owners and operators, and are unable to realize readily available energy and cost savings that can improve profitability and community performance.
