In collaboration with SCAD: Savannah College of Art and Design, PastForward is engaging young people in exciting content development to be shared at the National Preservation Conference. This winter SCAD students researched and documented the power of revolving funds over time as part of the course HIPR 704: Preservation Economics and Development. They surveyed funds around the country and prepared an economic impact report, which will serve as the basis for a documentary on revolving funds to premiere at PastForward. Their research has also contributed to educational content for Learning Labs, Power Sessions and TrustLive programming at the conference. From advocacy and policy to real estate and development, the students have explored the many, at times complicated and misunderstood, facets of revolving funds. Their findings will not only educate attendees, it will surely lead to dynamic discussions around the intersection between preservation and property redevelopment.
