Resources for Repair of Post-war Housing
One of the most challenging tasks for homeowners of post-war residences is locating appropriate materials for repair or replacement in their homes. With considerable assistance from the Architectural Services Division of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, we have compiled a list of potential products and services that can be used to repair, replace, or replicate original features in post-war residential properties. This is by no means intended to represent a comprehensive list, but it can serve as a good starting point when attempting to find a specific product or material.
This list is not intended--and we request that it not be used--for commercial purposes or that the mention of a product or service constitutes and endorsement. Reference herein to any specific commercial firm, commercial product, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not constitute or imply its endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) or its membership. The NTHP is not responsible for the accuracy or content of information contained in these sites, and links to third-party sites do not constitute an endorsement by the NTHP of the parties or their products and services.
