Located in northeast Oregon, the High Valley Ranch is home to Robert and Patricia Sheehy. The Sheehys farm hay and raise beef cattle. A large dutch gambrel barn sits on their farmstead and is an integral part of their family farm. While the barn was originally used for hay storage and dairy cows, the barn is currently used for all of the family’s events including reunions, weddings, and other special occasions. When the barn isn’t being used by the family’s 12 siblings and their families, it is used to store farm equipment.
As one of the last remaining century-old farm buildings in eastern Oregon, the barn has become the family’s pride and joy. In order to bring the barn to its current condition the Sheehys squared and reinforced the structure, as well as repaired or replaced doors, windows, cedar shingles, and support trusses.
