Last updated in 2003, the East End Historic District in Newburgh, New York was once a showcase of American history, culture and design. Today, a severely depressed economy has resulted in high vacancy rates, widespread abandonment and severs deterioration of the landmark district. Like many other small cities, Newburgh has not been immune to economic restructuring and has suffered from the loss of jobs and wealth.
