Guidelines for all advertising on PreservationNation.org

  • Please provide linking URL, alt text of no more than 10 words, and rotation instructions with each piece of creative
  • Banners must open a new browser
  • Ads may not be designed to mimic the look and feel of the site, including using colors and fonts from the site
  • Ads that might blend into the site require a one pixel black border
  • Banners designed to look like an "alert" window or false computer message will not be accepted
  • Flash or animated messages that overly distract the reader will not be accepted
  • All audio/video ads must be user-initiated with visible play and pause/stop buttons
  • Expandable banners must be user initiated with a visible close button and should close automatically within 15 seconds
  • For Flash ads, refer to: http://www.adobe.com/resources/richmedia/tracking/ to ensure that clickTAGs are implemented correctly.
