About John:
As the principal of Greenleaf Partners, John Monroe works with cities, towns and nonprofit groups to help them mobilize for revitalization and community-building projects. He particularly enjoys working with Main Street communities because of their commitment to change through partnerships. He serves on Resource Teams, delivers conference workshops, and offers customized training and coaching for Main Street managers and board members. He's worked for several years with Main Street Iowa to develop new Resource Team formats that engage residents more fully. Watch for his upcoming articles in the Main Street News on how to manage routine meetings for productivity and pleasure. For more information, please see www.JohnMonroe.net.
John is a member of the International Association of Facilitators where he presents regularly at conferences. He is also with the Rivers & Trails Program of the National Park Service. Based in Boston since 1991, he provides technical assistance to conservation non-profits and local governments. Assistance focuses on producing tangible results (such as new trails and greenways), strengthening grass-roots organizations and expanding volunteer involvement through public events and brief publications.
