The Web Technology Manager will play a key role in PreservationNation.org, the National Trust for Historic Preservation's new interactive, Content Management System driven web site. The position will advise on the overall technical design, gathering and reviewing system requirements, guiding the integration of old and new systems, and helping to determine software systems. The individual will be responsible for drafting requirements, developing scope, scheduling, and then working with third-party programmers to develop a series of discrete technical products on the Convio web platform. These projects will be identified and prioritized by National Trust leaders, and could include a wiki, e-commerce, integrated Facebook presence, etc. In addition to implementing these projects, this individual will advise and recommend other solutions, if better solutions exist.
Duties
- Work with the Web and Convio Teams to manage the full life-cycle of a series of web products. These products will be hosted on or integrated with the National Trust's existing Convio web platform.
- Deliverables include detailed project plans (with schedules) and monthly reports.
- In addition, some projects may also have training, change management, or communication component that will also have to be managed.
Qualifications
- B.A or B.S preferred.
- Minimum five years' experience in full life-cycle project management.
- Demonstrated skill with web technologies such as HTML; CSS; and XML.
- Demonstrated knowledge of database-, content-, and project-management concepts.
- Familiarity with Flash, Javascript, Java, and other programming concepts preferred. Experience using Convio and project management software a plus.
- Must be highly organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to work productively within project teams and be able to manage tasks independently.
- Although this position requires a familiarity and comfort with software programming, it is not a programming position.
