Perform marketing and acquisition activities for the National Trust Community Investment Fund. Develop pipeline and underwrite prospective equity investments for the Fund to include equity investments in residential, commercial and mixed-use historic rehabilitation projects.
Preferred location of job is Chicago, IL, but Washington, DC, location may be considered.
Duties
- Originate transactions and underwrite projects
- Prepare and present Approval Memoranda to Investment Committee, negotiate terms of term sheets, letters of intent and final equity documents
- Oversee closing process and transition project to asset management group.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of senior level experience in complex urban subsidized housing and commercial real estate finance. Prior experience working with governmental agencies, nonprofit groups and for profit developers required.
- Expertise in legal, tax and accounting aspects of low-income housing or historic tax credit projects required.
- Strong financial analysis, spreadsheet (Excel) and negotiating experience required.
- Knowledge of the historic and New Markets tax credits, the master tenant ownership structure and the historic tax credit certification process preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and oral presentations and public speaking preferred.
