All too often, effective preservation programs are threatened or eliminated as a way to address budget shortfalls and to feed the perception that preservation does not pay – a claim proven false time and again through numerous economic benefit studies.
Today, partners across the country are working to tap stimulus dollars for "preservation-ready" projects, all while budget cuts are having adverse effects on their already-strained staff and capacity.
