Better Boards: Basic Boardsmanship
Better Boards® is a two-day, invitational program designed specifically to address the needs of nonprofit preservation organizations. Using case studies, role-play exercises and small group activities, Better Boards focuses intensively on the processes and skills that promote leadership development and sustainable organizations.
Who should attend?
Better Boards is open only to boards members and executive directors representing the preservation organizations invited to each workshop. Participating organizations must enroll their executive director and a minimum of five active board members in the program.
Goals
- To increase the capacity and sustainability of statewide and local preservation organizations by strengthening the skills and strategies available to board and staff leaders;
- To support and enhance the regional network of statewide and local preservation leaders by engaging them in constructive communication about challenges and solutions to common organizational development issues.
