Better Boards III: Getting Major Gifts
Better Boards®: Getting Major Gifts is a two-day, invitational program designed specifically to address the needs of nonprofit historic preservation organizations with a focus on fundraising skills and fiscal responsibility. Using case studies, role-play exercises and small group activities, Better Boards: Getting Major Gifts focuses intensively on the processes and skills that result in effective fundraising efforts at the major gift level.
Goal
The goal of Better Boards: Getting Major Gifts is to increase the capacity and sustainability of statewide and local preservation organizations by strengthening the skills and strategies available to board and staff leaders to obtain the financial resources necessary to carry out their missions.

- Building a fundraising board
- Board/staff partnerships in fundraising
- Preparing for success
- Identifying, cultivating, asking, and stewarding your major gift donor
