Main Street Basic Training
Learn about the nationally successful Main Street Four-Point Approach™ to commercial district revitalization from the organization that has been the leader in the field for more than 25 years. During this intensive, four-day training, you'll study each of the four elements of the Main Street approach — Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Restructuring — and find out how these areas can be combined in a local, grassroots initiative to form a dynamic, comprehensive revitalization program appropriate to traditional commercial districts.

National Trust for Historic Preservation Headquarters The National Trust for Historic Preservation is housed in the National Historic Landmark 1916 Beaux Arts luxury apartment building (also known as the McCormick apartments) located at 1785 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20036. It is at the corner of 18th Street and Massachusetts Avenue, one block southeast of DuPont Circle. It is easily accessible from the Washington DC Metro system's Red Line and within easy walking distance of several hotels. Washington, DC is accessible from three major airports: Washngton National (DCA), Washington Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore Washington (BWI). | |||||||||||||||||

Each day of training is dedicated to one of the four points of the Main Street Approach. Below is a general outline for the week of classes with descriptions of the general topics covered in each session. Each session is conducted by a National Trust Main Street Center Program Officer. Don't miss anything important - training ends in the late afternoon on Thursday. Be sure to make your travel arrangements to allow you to fully participate in the entire training. | |||||||||||||||||
