PLT/A: Real Estate Feasibility Studies
Feasibility studies are one of the preservationist's most frequently used tools, and can be one of the most effective. PLT/ Advanced: Real Estate Feasibility Studies is designed to develop an understanding of the essential elements of a high quality real estate feasibility study. Using an actual historic building in the area, real estate consultant Donovan Rypkema will guide participants through the step-by-step process of preparing a feasibility study. Learn what should be covered in a comprehensive feasibility study, recognize frequently cited shortcomings, and identify mistakes to avoid.
The textbook for this program, Feasibility Assessment Manual for Reusing Historic Buildings by Donovan Rypkema, may be purchased from Preservation Books.
Who Will Benefit?
PLT/A: Real Estate Feasibility Studies is designed primarily for staff and volunteers of nonprofit preservation organizations directly involved, or considering involvement, in community initiated development projects. Representatives of government agencies that work with these organizations may also benefit. Preference will be given to individuals who have completed the PLT/Advanced in Real Estate, Design & Advocacy or the Main Street Real Estate Development Institute.
No more than 20 participants will be accepted. The small group size is designed to encourage active participation and to allow for personal attention from the trainer. All participants must attend the full program.
