84.5 cents of every dollar you give to the National Trust for Historic Preservation goes to the implementation of our preservation and outreach programs.

Read our Donor Bill of Rights.

Support from Members and friends provide the foundation for our many programs and services, including our National Main Street Center, which has helped over 2,000 communities rehabilitate more than 186,000 buildings. Dues payments help acquire and provide support for our 29 Historic Sites across the country, provide technical assistance to communities, educate the public on the importance of preservation, and much more.Operating Expenses FY 07

Members have also helped us win important preservation battles such as the fight to stop construction of a casino within cannon range of the historic Gettysburg Battlefield, and enabled us to work with the Montana Historical Society to save the former mining "boom towns" of Virginia City and Nevada City, Montana.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation receives no government funding for our operations, so member dues and contributions are critical if we are to continue our work to protect America's irreplaceable architectural and cultural heritage.
