Protect San Onofre Beach
ACT NOW TO PROTECT SAN ONOFRE STATE BEACH
Your help is needed to prevent construction of the Foothill-South Toll Road through San Onofre State Beach. Project opponents won a stunning victory on February 6th, when the California Coastal Commission voted 8 to 2 to deny a federal consistency permit to the Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA) finding that the proposed toll road violates virtually every provision of the state's Coastal Act. The decisive action of the Coastal Commission should have stopped the toll road dead in its tracks, but the TCA has appealed the decision to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Send a letter to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez urging him to deny the toll road appeal by upholding the Coastal Commission's Decision to protect coastal cultural resources and to support the opportunity for a public hearing on this matter.
