April 9, 2008
- The Senate Energy and Natural Resources' Subcommittee on National Parks Subcommittee held a hearing on pending legislation, including a bill (S. 2262) to authorize the Save America's Treasures (SAT) and Preserve America (PA) programs. National Trust President Richard Moe provided testimony in support of this authorization.
April 24, 2008
- The House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, heard testimony from Emily Wadhams, Vice President for Public Policy at the National Trust, on H.R. 3981, a bill to provide an authorization for the Save America's Treasures (SAT) and Preserve America (PA) programs.
May 8, 2008
- The House passed an affordable housing package on May 8th that incorporated H.R. 5720, the "Housing Assistance Tax Act of 2008" into the bill as one of its titles. H.R. 5720 contains provisions amending the federal rehabilitation tax credit supported by the National Trust and its preservation partners similar to the provisions contained in the "Community Restoration and Revitalization Act of 2007" (H.R. 1043/S. 584).
