Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credits Amendments Three amendments to the federal rehabilitation tax credit were included as part of the "Housing Recovery Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-289) which became law on July 30, 2008.
Rural Heritage Incentives and Programs The Farm Bill Assistance Act (H.R. 2419) - Became law on June 18, 2008 after the House and Senate overrode a presidential veto.
SAT and Preserve America Authorization H.R. 3891/S. 2262 - a bill formally authorizing funding for the Save America's Treasures (SAT) and Preserve America programs under the Historic Preservation Fund has been the subject of hearings in both the House and Senate.
Preservation Funding and Appropriations The Administration's FY'09 budget proposed $66.658 million for the Historic Preservation Fund earlier this year.  The House Subcommittee on Interior and the Environment marked up the FY'09 Interior spending bill and approved $82 million for the Historic Preservation Fund.  Learn more ...
Public Lands - Conservation System H.R. 2016, S. 1139 - These bills would provide a permanent authorization for protecting natural and cultural resources located on public lands in the National Landscape Conservation System under the aegis of the Bureau of Land Management.  H.R. 2016 has passed the House with amendments.
Public Lands - U.S. Forest Service Cultural Resources National Trust report was issued that details the lack of necessary funding needed to preserve cultural resources located on Forest Service lands.
National Parks - Presidio Trust Act Amendments Read the National Trust's letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi detailing the amendments proposed in H.R. 6305 that would benefit the stewardship of historic properties located on the Presidio National Park site within the Golden Gate National Recrecreation Area.
