New for 2010: Preservation Lobby Day is now Historic Preservation Advocacy Week!
Pull out the business cards and update the briefing papers – Historic Preservation Advocacy Week is near. This year, our traditional advocacy day is being held in conjunction with the National Historic Tax Credits Conference, creating a full week of preservation in the nation’s capital. However, meeting with your Members of Congress isn’t the only reason to head to DC this March; you’ll get up-to-the-minute legislative updates and training, time to network with preservation friends old and new, and the opportunity to learn about the latest and greatest in historic preservation tax credits. Details are still being finalized, so bookmark this page for updates. For now, all registration information and conference agendas are available online. Not sure what to expect? Check out our coverage of the Washington State Delegation – cleverly nicknamed “Team Way Outside the Beltwayers” – from their 2009 trip to the Hill.
Meet the 2009 Team
What is Team Way Outside the Beltwayers?
What do you get when you combine a former small-town mayor, a couple of enthusiastic first-time lobbyists, a museum director, a handful of statewide partners and consultants, a non-profit executive director, current and retired university professors, and several seasoned preservationists? The dynamic recipe for advocacy success that is Team Way Outside the Beltwayers, of course.
