For ten years, Delawareans have enjoyed the benefits of the Delaware Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program. An estimated 2,400 jobs, many of them local, have been created by the program which has leveraged more than $166 million in private-sector rehabilitation.

The Delaware Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program is scheduled to sunset at the end of June. The bill to reauthorize the program for another ten years has passed the Senate and will go before the Delaware House of Representatives as early as June 1.

Background Information

During the past ten years, the Delaware Historic Tax Credit Program has leveraged more than $166 million in private-sector rehabilitation of Delaware's older and historic buildings, all while creating an estimated 2,400 jobs. The very nature of historic rehabilitation is that it creates local jobs that foster strong neighborhoods and communities. We need support for legislation that will continue to protect and preserve places that matter in Delaware, as well as create jobs and spur community revitalization and sustainability.

Take Action!

Contact your state representative and ask them to support the bill to extend the Tax Credit Program (SB209w/SA#1).
