A frontier Army outpost from 1867 to 1889, Fort Concho stands as among the best preserved posts of its era west of the Mississippi, creating the nearby town of San Angelo. The fort has period interiors, special displays, ongoing events & programs, living history, and children;s events. The site is open seven days week all year. It also has a research library and hosts many community events and activities.
