Peralta Hacienda Historical Park and Museum, in Oakland California, explores San Francisco Bay Area history at the six-acre headquarters of a vast Spanish land grant, while engaging and giving voice to today’s diverse Oakland community. Open space with walk-in outdoor exhibits, Historic Core Adobe Area, Creek Nature Area, museum and community center form an arts and educational hub and regional history center. Restored to 1870 conditions, the farmhouse brings Spanish-speaking California to life on the cusp of a new era after the Gold Rush. On the National Register of Historic Places, it houses multi-sensory exhibits, both permanent and temporary.
