Terrace Hill is home to Iowa’s Governor and a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1869, it’s one of the finest examples of Victorian Second Empire architecture. Today, Terrace Hill recreates the lavish life-style of its wealthy former residents. From the brilliantly colored stained glass window, marvelous woodwork, eight acres of historic grounds, and worldly collections, the past seems ever present as you explore its halls. Unique to other states, Terrace Hill hosts over ten thousand visitors each year. From school children to political figures, Terrace Hill leaves an impression on every visitor.
