The Golden Age of Illustration as a chapter in the history of American art is superbly interpreted at the house and property of N.C. Wyeth (1882-1945). This site—including house, studio, barn, open fields, an orchard and woodland—give form to the life and career of one of the period's most successful illustrators. It is also the environment that nourished three generations of American artists, including Andrew, Henriette, and James B. Wyeth, whose heritage is firmly rooted in this site.
