T.C. Steele State Historic Site

The T.C. Steele State Historic Site includes the last home and studio of Indiana artist Theodore Clement Steele (1847-1926), a member of the noted Hoosier Group of American Impressionist painters. In 1907, Steele purchased the land in Brown County that now comprises the wooded scenery of the T.C. Steele State Historic Site. The 211-acre site includes Steele's home, "The House of the Singing Winds," his Large Studio, five hiking trails, the Dewar Log Cabin, and the 92-acre Selma Steele Nature Preserve.
