Nathaniel Streitman was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1933. He received his degree in architecture from the Pratt Institute in 1955 and served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers from 1956 to 1958. He also worked as a rail transportation planner for the Port Authority of New York. Streitman formed his own practice in 1962. His only known house in New Canaan, Connecticut, is the Waxberg House (1956). Streitman's current practice is based out of Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
