Free Hills School
Celina, TN
The Free Hills School was built in 1929. Since 1962 it has served as a community center.
The funding will be used to address heating and cooling needs by adding ceiling fans for the summer months and a heat source, likely a wood stove, for cooler months, and windows will be repaired or replaced. This will provide year-round access and protection for sensitive documents housed in the Free Hills School. Bathroom facilities will be updated to comply with ADA requirements and safety issues at the entrances will be addressed.
Upon completion, the facility will be used as a multi-purpose community center.
The Hull-York Lakeland Resource Conservation and Development Council will manage the restoration project.
