Taking Education Skills Seriously (TESS)
Princeton Graded School
Mount Olive, North Carolina
Award Type: Lowe's
The Princeton Graded School was built in 1925. The building is currently vacant and has not been used in over three years.
The grant will fund Phase I of the three phase restoration project in order to repair the building for immediate use. This will consist of window and roof repairs; exterior siding repairs and painting; general repairs to walls, ceilings and floors; electrical upgrades; as well as the construction of an accessible ramp.
Once complete, the building will be used as a nonprofit adminstrative headquarters and educational facility for youth and adolescents. It will also be available for community gatherings, adult education, and more.
Taking Education Skill Seriously (TESS) will manage the project. Visit the TESS Website to learn more, or contact Tracy Hayes in the Southern Regional Office.
