Scrabble School
Scrabble, VA

The Scrabble School, a two-room schoolhouse was built in 1921. It served as a school and meeting center for many years until it was closed in 1968 as a result of school integration.
Interior improvements and refurbishment will take place with the grant funds and will include repairing plaster walls, beaded board ceilings, and flooring. New doors and windows will also be milled.
Upon completion, the building will serve as a Senior Citizens' and Heritage Center.
The Scrabble School Preservation Foundation will manage the restoration project. For more information, visit www.scrabbleschool.org.
