The Tankersley School was built in 1923 and is currently vacant.
As part of a larger restoration effort, the grant funds will be used for foundation stabilization work; masonry repairs; roof, truss and ceiling repairs; window and door repairs and replacements; and new floors.
Once complete, the building will be used as a community facility providing services to the elderly and rural population of Hope Hull outside of Montgomery.
