The Selma Rosenwald School was built in 1924.  It is currently used as a community center and meeting facility.

The funds will be used to re-open the original entrances and replace two doors that have been removed from the building; to replace windows and siding; and to paint the exterior of the structure.

Upon completion, the building will continue to function as a community center and meeting facility.  It will also be the site of the 2009 All-School Reunion and a small library is slated to be installed summer of 2009.

The  project will be managed by the Southeast Arkansas Rescource Conservation and Development Area, Inc.

For more information about the Selma Rosenwald School or any of the other Rosenwald School grant recipients, contact Tracy Hayes in the National Trust for Historic Preservation Southern Office.
