Designed by the famous African American architect Paul Revere Williams, this house was commissioned in 1937 by Dr. Marcus Tucker, the first African American physician to practice in Santa Monica. The home is noted for its unique use of bay windows, and was the child hood home of Dr. Tucker's son, Marcus Tucker Jr., who was the first African American deputy city attorney, and would later serve on the Los Angeles Superior Court.
