Aboard the premier ship cruising Russia’s waterways, experience the country’s two great cultural capitals. While moored in St. Petersburg, Tzar Peter the Great’s “window on the West,” attend a special early opening tour of the Hermitage Museum. In the fabled city of Moscow, Russia’s political and commercial capital, see the world’s largest collection of Fabergé eggs. Cruise through Russia’s heartland along scenic rivers, lakes, and canals, calling on Kizhi Island, an open-air museum dedicated to astounding wooden architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Goritsy, noted for its 14th-century monastery; and the Golden Ring cities of medieval Yaroslavl and 10th-century Uglich—rustic remnants of Old Russia. A pre-tour extension to Moscow is also planned.
