Tour Itinerary

January 4
Independent arrivals at the gorgeous Pier House. The tour begins with an insightful lecture by favorite study leader John Meffert, introducing the history, ecology, and personalities of the Sunshine State. Tonight, meet fellow travelers over a delicious dinner at one of Duval Street’s best restaurants.

January 5
Spend the morning learning about the very earliest days of Key West with visits to two magical historic properties. Meet the director of the Key West Art and History Society's impressive Custom House Museum before viewing the museum’s excellent exhibitions. Nearby, tour the beautiful Audubon House. A delightful lunch on a shaded restaurant terrace offers a welcome midday break. Gather for a special sunset cruise, a great way to relax and see Key West as all early visitors did – from the water.

January 6
The town of Key West is one of the country's hot spots for preservation. Take a first-hand look during a leisurely morning walking tour with a local expert who will point out historic theaters, charming gingerbread houses, hidden gardens, and rare tropical plants and flowers that thrive in Key West. A morning highlight will be a visit to a lovely historic private home. After stopping for lunch in a delightful restaurant, a favorite among locals, spend the afternoon exploring Key West’s art scene. Meet with a prominent sculptor and owner of one of Key West’s best contemporary art galleries.

January 7
Enjoy a special walk through Mallory Square with John Meffert before a director-led tour of Harry Truman's “Little White House” and Annex. Enjoy exclusive entrée into a charming private home in one of Key West’s most sought-after neighborhoods. Tonight, celebrate your Key West adventure with an elegant farewell dinner at a beautiful, award-winning restaurant.
