Celebrating 500 Years of Palladio
September 24 – October 3, 2008
You are cordially invited to travel with noted landscape designer and garden author Patrick Bowe, who has led past National Trust travel programs to rave reviews.
From the White House to Jefferson’s Monticello, and throughout the world, Palladio’s influence is reflected in much of the architecture we see every day. Looking back at ancient Rome, and adding a large dose of his own genius, Palladio reinvented architecture in the late 16th century, and his influence has remained strong for centuries. As we celebrate the 500th anniversary of his birth, the time has come to look more closely at Palladio’s extraordinary achievements.
